Parenting Speaker
Are You Looking for a Speaker With Expertise in Parenting?
Are you a parenting group that would like to learn about research-supported strategies that will enhance parenting skills? Are you a child professional, corporation or organization that works with parents who could use assistance with deepening their relationship with their children? Are you a daycare, school or afterschool facility that would like to teach parents about typical child development and ways to support or enhance child development? Perhaps you work with couples who could benefit from a workshop on ways to enhance their intimacy in their relationship while parenting. Or, maybe you want to book a parenting specialist who can provide caregivers with concrete, easy-to-implement tools that will allow them to begin to see immediate, positive results.
Finding a parenting speaker and expert that is relatable, professional and impactful is important because parents need to feel inspired and motivated to tackle the challenges of childrearing. Parenting can be a daunting and isolating experience and it can feel like an insurmountable challenge. However, it does not have to be that way.
Finding a trusted and knowledgeable person who can partner with parents to equip them with life-changing knowledge and resources is a great way to tackle those negative emotions. Would you like to find a speaker who can provide tangible tips, research that backs up those tips and can provide stories and examples to bring it all to life?
Parenting Can Be Overwhelming and Tough
As a parent, I can personally relate to the overwhelmed feeling of managing the relentless stream of familial obligations. Many parents report feeling overburdened with the demands and pressures of modern childrearing. As a result, parenting can leave one feeling tired, stressed and alone and cut off from the rest of the world.
It is estimated that approximately 13 percent of parents experience “high burnout,” meaning they feel exhausted, less productive and competent, emotionally withdrawn and experience qualities similar to professional burnout—at least once a week. Parental emotions and stress management are especially critical in the parent-child relationship as children learn to regulate emotions as a core developmental competence.
There is not a manual for parenting because each child is unique. Furthermore, we all make parenting mistakes. The goal of parenting is not to be the perfect parent but to model for our child how to learn from our parenting mistakes and make better decisions the next time. Attending a parenting workshop, retreat or seminar can help you understand the possible parenting traps you may have fallen into and equip you with the tools to succeed in future parent-child interactions.
Booking a Parenting Speaker and Parenting Expert Can Transform How Families Interact
I provide audiences with real-world stories that connect with parents and help them understand they are not alone in the parenting journey. My clients have described me as engaging, practical, dynamic, and inspiring. I aspire to host workshops or seminars that are well-organized, engaging and include copious examples of everyday parenting experiences. I prefer to use real-life examples when presenting because when parents leave the presentation, the material will stay in their mind and they are more likely to use their newly learned skills when appropriate.
Who Should Attend a Parenting Workshop, Retreat or Seminar?
I believe parenting workshops are for anyone who interacts with children or has the desire to interact with children in the future. This may include veteran parents, new or expecting parents, grandparents, foster parents, stepparents, aunts or uncles, extended family members, teachers or professionals who have regular interaction with children.
Let’s admit it. Everyone could use advice about supporting children and helping them become successful and resilient adults. Childrearing is complex and there is lots of expert advice out there about how to “do it right.” Some parenting experts are strong proponents of positively reinforcing children to reshape behavior and others are strongly opposed to any form of reinforcement and emphasize discipline and consequences. I am somewhere in the middle of this spectrum.
I believe that the path in parenting is unique and depends on the values of a family or community, the role of the caregiver/adult and the specific needs of the children. This type of perspective helps me to create workshops that are useful to all kinds of individuals. Additionally, my workshops are for individuals who feel like they are in “crisis mode” and need tips for intervention and for individuals who want to be proactive and address possible challenges or minor behaviors before they become pressing matters.
Curious About What I Can Assist a Parent With During a Typical Workshop?
I strive to cover topics that deal with everyday parenting issues. My goal is to provide a better understanding of your child and their development. It is my hope that this knowledge and awareness will help parents make decisions, which will improve the lives of their children and their confidence as parents.
Some of the topics that I can address in a parenting workshop include: understanding child development; building self-esteem; enhancing the parent-child relationship; dealing with bullying; dealing with challenging behaviors; taming tantrums; handling sibling rivalry; winning the battle of power struggles and setting boundaries; praising children the right way; managing homework battles; keeping the intimacy alive while parenting; managing technology; parenting a child with special needs and the list goes on! As a parenting consultant, my primary goal is to meet the needs of my audience and, therefore, this list is not exhaustive and I am willing and able to tailor my workshop as needed.
You Want a Parenting Speaker Who Has a Strong Professional Background and Expertise
I have been working in the field of child psychology for approximately a decade. I have worked with children and families in a variety of settings and treated an array of parent and child concerns. Although I am a licensed psychologist, my specialized training is in School Psychology. I have an understanding of the multiple environments and systems that impact the life of a child and their family. I use that training as a School Psychologist to enhance my speaking with families by sharing interventions applicable to the multiple environments connected to a child.
In addition to my graduate training background, I am trained in Parent Child Interaction Therapy, which is a research-supported treatment for improving parent-child relationships and child behavior problems. Finally, I am a certified Gottman Bringing Baby Home Educator and I offer workshops for new and expecting parents about ways to strengthen their relationship to establish a strong foundation as new parents.
It’s Important That You Select a Speaker Who Is Accessible
I am committed to the improvement of relationships between a parent and their child. As such, I pride myself in speaking in multiple venues and to a wide range of audiences. I desire to go into spaces where there are parents—which is everywhere!
I am available to speak to teachers, school administrators, daycares, churches, synagogues, masjids, afterschool centers, sports leagues and community groups (e.g., PTOs, playgroups). I also can be a speaker for parenting parties.
Similar to jewelry parties, candle parties and cooking ware parties, parenting parties allow friends and family to gather together in person or virtually to learn helpful skills. You can select a topic, your location and then some dates and invite your family and friends for an evening of parenting inspiration, support and laughter.
You Can Feel Confident in Your Parenting Skills
I am committed to the empowerment of families. I am passionate about my work and what I teach parents. I work diligently to generate positive results from participants who attend my workshops. I challenge myself to be authentic, practical, transparent, engaging and motivating when speaking.
If you are ready to enroll in a parenting seminar or retreat or want to book me for a workshop or a private parenting party, then contact me at 678-649-1940 or send me a message. I look forward to the opportunity to collaborate with you and help you or other parents achieve the family that is desired and deserved.
